Eligibility
DA National Grooming Team
This team will be run under the management of Dogs Australia Grooming Committee. The Dogs Australia National Grooming Team comprises 4 Team members who shall act as representatives of our National Grooming Team in Australia.
The National Grooming Team is comprised of the following :
One Team member for Group 1 Hand Stripping
One Team member for Group 2 Spaniel / Setter
One Team member for Group 3 Poodle
One Team member for Group 4 Scissoring
The National Grooming Team will comprise the top point holders using the highest pointscore leader board derived from the sanctioned shows. Four representatives will be selected from the scoreboard subject to his/her eligibility.
The Team Manager appointed by the National Canine Grooming Committee will lead the above Team. The Team Manager may step into the team if required to compete.
Additionally, we created a place for our young groomer to travel along with our National Grooming Team. The primary objective is for them to get some exposure and inspire other youngster groomers to join our event and prepare themselves for the next World Grooming events.
The winner of The Rising Star scoreboard will be awarded this opportunity.
Eligibility
Eligibility - National Team member
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident residing permanently in Australia during the qualifying period.
Must be a member of Dogs Australia Member Body and maintain a friendly relationship with Dogs Australia.
Must compete in Level A (A+ or A)
Must complete and be pointed in at least 2 different States or Territories
Must compete in a minimum of 3 (three) out of 4 (four) sanctioned categories and must have pointed in group at least two of the four categories.
Eligibility - Rising Star
No#1 Rising Star will have the opportunity to travel with The National Grooming Team to the World Grooming Championship to be eligible to be part of the National Team, the young groomer required the following:
Must be under 48 months of grooming experience during the qualifying period.
Must be an Australian citizen or as a permanent resident residing permanently in Australia during the qualifying period. Must be member of Dogs Australia Member Body and maintained the friendly relationship with Dogs Australia.
Must compete in at least 2 different States or territories.
Must compete in a minimum 2 (two) out of 4 (four) sanctioned categories from DA sanctioned shows.
Selecting the Travel Team
The Australian National Grooming Team will comprise the top 4 point holders using the Top Groomer of the Year (All-Rounder) leaderboard derived from the sanctioned shows. In the event a member becomes ineligible, the position will be offered to person chosen from the list of the next top point holders.
If 2 or more grooming exhibitors have the same number of points, the participant with the most number of 'Best in Group 1st' will be placed first. If there is still not an outright leader, the number of 'Best in Group 2nd' wins will be counted and then if necessary 'Best In Group 3' If the Travel Team is still undecided, the committee members will convene a meeting for a final vote.
DA National Grooming Team is an approximate 2-year commitment.
All associated travel costs involved with The National Grooming Team are a shared responsibility of each team member. They are required to raise funds individually as well as group fundraising should it become available. You should not consider participating in this travel team selection if you are unable to raise funds individually.
